An SLP or AVT session (for children with hearing impairments) will provide your child with support in the areas of listening, speech, language, and social communication. Each session is designed to incorporate all areas of communication to allow your child to communicate to their greatest potential. Your child will expand their speech and language skills while participating in fun and motivating experiences. Parents are also supported and provided with detailed information throughout the therapy session. Parents will be given strategies and suggested activities to allow you to support your child at home following your therapy session.

Julie Sparkes has 20 years of experience working in the community with children and families. She is passionate about supporting children to communicate to their greatest potential using fun and meaningful experiences. Julie received her Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She is also a Certified Auditory-Verbal Therapist (LSLS Cert. AVT®) through the AG Bell Academy for Listening and Spoken Language. Julie is a Registered member of the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO), as well as a member of Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC).
